Finally the possibility of an honest look at today’s food on TV?

In the U.S., we have a plethora of food-related shows on TV – with celebrity chefs, cooking competitions and even an entire channel dedicated to Food, The Food Network.  Aside from a documentary here and there, like “Supersize Me” or “Food, Inc.“, there is little to no content that really takes an honest look at today’s big agribusiness mass market food and all the problems and health risks that go with those types of food choices.

Perhaps that will change, thanks to food journalist Stett Holbrook and two documentary filmmakers, Todd Dayton and Greg Roden.  The three are working together to create a new television show called Food Forward, a show that focuses on sustainable, natural, healthy foods.  They are, however, finding it to be quite a challenge to get the funding required to produce their show.  It’s not particularly surprising,  considering that Pop Tarts, Pringles, Burger King and all the other junk food vendors you commonly see sponsoring your average television show will clearly not be motivated to advertise on Food Forward!
