Gluten-free brownies made with quality organic ingredients is a delicious and healthy dessert loaded with “good fats” and still relatively low in carbohydrates and sugars if prepared according to the recipe below.
INGREDIENTS:
- 10 ounces (or 300g) Organic Dark Chocolate (80% or darker)
- 5 ounces (or 150g) Grass-fed Organic Butter (you can also experiment using 2/3 butter and 1/3 coconut oil)
- 2 teaspoons (or 10 ml) Vanilla Extract
- 1 pinch of Unrefined Sea Salt
- 4 Organic Free-range Eggs
- 2 tablespoons (or 30g) Ground Flax Seeds or Ground Hemp Hearts or Sweet Rice Flour (or other substitute for flour)
- Stevia and/or Organic Honey (to taste)
Other optional ingredients (keep sugar content low):
- Organic Nuts
- Coconut (flakes or shredded)
- Dried Goji Berries
- Be creative!
DIRECTIONS:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Use a double boiler to melt the chocolate (if you don’t have a double boiler just put a smaller pan inside a larger pan full of water, it works fine). Gradually stir in all the ingredients except the eggs. Add honey and/or stevia to taste. Break the eggs into a bowl and whisk them to an even consistency as if making an omelet. Grease a medium sized baking pan. When the chocolate is fully melted stir in the eggs. Pour the entire mixture into your baking pan and bake for 20 minutes. Allow to cool thoroughly before cutting.
ENJOY!
